Post Christmas projects

I hope that you had an enjoyable & restful Christmas. Ours was spent with family & at home before returning to work on Wednesday. I never mind once I have got over having to get up at 6.30am whilst everyone else is sleeping & warm.
I very much like this time between Christmas & new year as all the ideas in my mind seem to come together & I finally have a focus.
Yesterday I saw this poor teddy, wrapped in a tiny shawl in a cabinet in an antique centre.

Her eyes are buttons ~& she has style wearing her necklace....... I had to rescue her from our Springer Spaniel who has a thing about Teddys. I could feel a growl in her tummy but it was not working. There was nothing for it but to operate..........

Her growl is beyond repair, though I have managed to find a supplier who I hope can give her a voice! Don't worry I have stiched her up in the meantime.. and much neater.
Today she has a dress (photo to follow once it has had vintage lace sewn on.......
Another installment to follow after helping my husband put up a new chandelier & paint a cupboard after having some shelves made.

Blustery few days

A miniature whose vibrant colours make me smile

This is one of 4 miniatures which I recently acquired, all depicting a different continent, reminding me that the weather will be different in Australia this time of year!

When the weather is as blustery as it has been it makes me want to sit in front of a warm log fire and surround myself with my family, including Oban the Springer, lovely food and inspiring material (blogs have a lot to answer for). It is just as well Christmas is nearly upon us. I have yet to do anything in preparation as I have a sore throat cold & feel decidedly unwell......... Christmas will happen though! I usually function best under pressure, but I'm not sure how good it is for us, having recently read an article on meditation & how 15 minutes of meditation per day can help us to reduce the effect that stress has on our health. My father has sworn by it for years.

I have a lot of ideas for projects over the winter months using beautiful objects that would be otherwise disgarded and I will build some meditation into my daily routine ....... sounds more like a new year resolution. I will keep you informed!

The Artisan at Christmas Fair..........only 2 more sleeps before the Artisan Fair

Salisbury Cathedral

I am busy collecting the items together for the Artisan at Christmas Fair on Sunday at the Middle Woodford Village Hall, Wiltshire. It seems as though there are not enough hours in the day to do all we would like....... sewing, laundry, cooking, dreaming, researching, packing!...........& that is just the fair. If you are free we would love to see you at the fair.

A sunny October day

We are so fortunate to have such a warm bright day at this time of the year...... one of many we hope. Never has October been so upbeat! Early morning reminds us of 'what could be'.......... the potential of the day about to unfold before us! I adore the early morning feeling when you can't wait to do things & no matter how tired you are you need to start several jobs. The plants and flowers are very confused... not to mention the hens who are running around in excitement because they think it is spring!
I met with Anne-Marie today for lunch and to plan the promotion material for the Artisan at Christmas fair on 20th November, photos taken we need to start to tell all of the day. Details  are to released over the next few days on the Artisan blog http://artisanfairs.blogspot.com/. Updated regularly it will show details of forthcoming events.
