Spring is around the corner

Having visited The Rococco Garden to see the snowdrops, our thoughts are turning to spring. The days are getting longer and the sun shinning brighter. Vintage et al is looking fresher... Valentine's Day is upon us, with a workshop (see the vintage et al website). Artists are preparing to exibit and new sellers are joining us.

Holiday in France en famille

We have had a lovely end to summer, a late summer visiting France en famille.... did I say an end to summer? The sun keeps on shinning....

Time flies when you're a bear

Where does time go?
It is a year since last I posted on my blog, lots has happened and I'm feeling inspired.....

Tedwina has had some eye surgery and found a new home. Her first move was to Vintage et al in  Warminster and after meeting Hattie Rabbit and a Cley a french teddy, all have found a home together.

I am sure they will be happy.....

Spring is emerging from the sleepiness of a wet winter

Yesterday afternoon was spent in the garden, pruning roses and trees, realising how much there is to do. The sun was shinning and the air was spring like. How different this morning is. The wind is howling, the rain pouring from the skies. In need of inspiration I have turned to books and garden catalogues and been reminded by Shane Connolly that "nature doesn't die in winter, it just sleeps, and some things actually flower in those darkest months". Besides, baking, cleaning and taking care of my family today I plan to pull a few things together to inspire. Foliage and flowers from the garden and containers I have around the house and outbuildings. I will post the results later.

Happy New Year

Whilst some celebrate the beginning of a New Year, I tend to reflect. Not in a morose way but realise how fortunate I am to be healthy & happy with a lovely family and friends.
What has happened since last year? It is with much anticipation that Vintage et al has opened. I was slow to move in, but the shop continues to evolve. We are fortunate to be joined by some lovely loyal friends who share a love of vintage and art.

The store is at 6, Silver Street, Warminster, BA12 8PS will be open from Tuesday (10-5) to Saturday.
We have an Artist in Residence and plan to have events, details to be published on the web-site. www.vintageetal.co.uk

In the meantime, when I look out at the weather I turn to my sewing box inspired I have many projects:

Get inspired by hats, perhaps not so grand?

As for resolutions:
1. Spend quality time with friends & family
2. Enjoy life, keep well!
3. Take more photographs!

..... & the rest. The same as last year!

HAPPY 2014.
